hi all had a busy morning today had to demolish wall that was in the middle of new shed ,recycled all the blocks for future use,also decided to rip down wall out the front as was unsafe a good days work ,suffering now but jobs done,battening out the retaining wall tomorrow regards gerwynmmr2

hi gerwyn, love the work you have done its fantastic.... just inerested are you going to use flash band or lead .....on your roof.....its just that around here ....birds peck holes in flash band..... and then it leaks ??

well today i have started to batten out wall ,also done the first fix electrics and acquired a packing case with a nice bit of timber and plywood sheet will be using this for the base of the flight it is 5ft6" long and 3ft6" wide. will have to rip it down to a metre in width.also picked up some nice mixed width timber will come in handy,insulation and tyvek going in tomorrow more pics then regards gerwynmr2

well finally got the insulation in well 75% of it anyway,my face and arms are burning like a week on a sunbed also got some of the tyvek breathable membrane on the roof total spend has increased a bit mor now into 3 figures£117.63

Least the budgies will be warm when they get to live there. Please excuse my ignorance, Gerwyn, but what is the reason for using tyvek? Is it like a gyprock type of thing, inside, or is it used externally? (Most of the hits I saw with google presumed you knew what it was, or promoted it as a signboard, banner etc.)

hi and yes its moving on a pace,hi hezz tyvek is a trademark i think ,but the tyvek stuff i am using on the the roof is a vapour barrier fibreglass paper it allows air flow but is 100% waterproof very good stuff a type of roofing underlay,and i am using it because i acquired a roll of it for nothing,it is very expensive to buy

hi all havnt managed to do a lot today,did manage to get the ceiling tyveked to the insulation i put in yesterday and got the dpm on the wall same to the insulation put in yesterday also sealed every possible hole and gap with expansion foam,i swear it is ten degrees warmer in there already,i have decided to plasterboard the ceiling and give it a skim of finishing plaster main wall the same spendometer has increased again due to 1 more roll of insulation and expansion foam now stands at £127.12p
