I use two similar but not the same as the one (in yellow!) shown, mine are smaller but I do clean and inspect them regularly as I have found droppings in them before! I wonder if my little darlings would take to the one shown by Barrie? Looks more like a hamster thingy Would love to see a picture of budgies drinking from that Barrie but it could take some time standing waiting for them to perform!!

Here they are usually sold as hamster or rat drinkers, Millie. Blue is really good at getting his bottom beak in and pushing the valve up to release the water. Sometimes I think they are a little slow for him - he seems to drink more that the other two, they have a sip and that's it.

Is it not difficult to clean inside the 'spout' of those glass bottles? I use the plastic fountains (like the yellow one), I put it fairly high up in the cage though so never have a problem with poop going in them.

Barrie can you use sterilising tablets like you use withbabby bottles or would the tablets react with the metal part of the drinker? Sue

I have just measured up and i plan to install a £200 automatic watering system , this will provide water on much the same idea as the bottles , once done i will post pictures.
