Awww thanks for asking stace Think he is doing a bit better today but not fully 100% so for the benefit of the doubt I shall put some more on today but this time I think I might do it just before they go to bed so his rests it with the stuff on it. Afterall, you cant exactly put a plastic bucket round a budgies neck as he was trying to rub it off yesterday. That said, it made me wonder if he has irritated it himself and that's why it became swollen in the first place as I have seen him rubbing against the cage bars? Never thought it was anything unusual as all budgies rub the heads against the cage or perch when in moult. So perhaps he has just irritated it himself a bit? Anyways, as long as he is getting better!

Updated pics of the little tyke Thought I would take him out for playtime in the usual manner and he has got his eye open the majority of the time now Wanted to get out of my grip here as he wanted to go and join the others up on the A Frame! Good sign eh?

A very good sign. Well done the both of you. Maybe he rubbed an eyelash into his eye or something. Glad it seems to be OK now.

Bless beautiful Wiggy, so glad it was short lived. As you say he probably rubbed a little too hard, i cringe when i see how hard mine rub their heads against objects when they are moulting or just have a bad itch .

That is such good news samwiseg. Wiggy is such a sweetie. He reminds me so much of my Oscar in looks and in temperament.

Well I am happy to report that Sir Wiggy is back to his normal self! So much so after last night's application he was bright as a button this morning, had his usual fly around and his eye has been open and clear all day Also we would like to thank you all for advice and well wishes, we don't know what we would do without you and the forum xx

Great news. He may have had a bit of grit in it that caused a little infection. Best to get it sorted out as soon as possible to save any undue suffering.
