Hi all,
Im stuck as to whether my budgie is sick or not.
He has just moulted slightly but is acting very strangely to his last moult.
He has literally done nothing for maybe 3 days apart from eat relentlessly, sleep , and forage around on the bottom of his cage.
These steps he has done round the clock for the last 3 days, 10 minutes of feeding, sleeping for half an hour and repeat.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s he also doesnt look any different to normal, beak, cere and feet are grand.

I'm not an expert, but, has your bud got a mineral block or iodine block in the cage. He may also be looking for calcium if he has just moulted, so does he have a cuttlebone in his cage? It's the forage that leads me to ask those questions.

Thanks for the reply, Unfortunately just spent my final 2 hours with him in his blanket and he passed away quietly.

I am so sorry to read this, I know how upsetting it is to lose a little budgie.
I saw your thread but didn't have the knowledge to advise you as to what to do to help your little bird.

Rest in Peace, sweet little one. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart, and he will be with you forever. It is so difficult to know what might have been wrong. I thought it was the molt. They leave us much too soon. I am so sorry for your loss. So unexpected.

Hi,
Thanks for all your kind messages there is a great community here.
Very difficult 2 days, house is so quiet , keep going to play with him and realising he isnt there.
Never realised how attached i had got.
