I thought it was a bit odd to be honest as I wondered about them getting their little feet stuck! But as the last time I had my own bidgie was over 20 years ago I thought it was some kind of new fangled invention!
Where do I get one of the boing perches? Have googled and went to pets at home and just for pets today and didn't see any.
Did manage to get a few bits though . I got a bath , two wooden jingly type toys , a wooden ladder and some seed and oyster shell grit. Oh and a few cuttle bones Do we still give grit? As some websites say yes and others no.
I was really disappointed by both the pet shops - hardly any choice of toys or perches and most of the perched were either huge thick real wood ones for parrots or dowling type ones so I've ordered a couple on line that I'm waiting for .
I'm going to ring my local breeders tomorrow to see when they may have a budgie available - what time of year do they normally have babies available? I'm in no rush am happy to wait so my new friend has the perfect home to come to!

The Oyster Shell Grit will be fine, along with the cuttle bone. They will also need an Iodine block. When you eventually get your little bud, don't forget to introduce then to lovely fresh veggies.

For toys, many of us make our own. Check out our "Budgie Toys and Enrichment" section. You might find some inspiration there.

I liked the bird wallpaper in the video. It's one I've seen before actually when I was looking for ideas. To answer your previous question (sorry only just seen it) I chose to get two buds together so they'd have each others company from day one. Being my first birds it made me more comfortable that they had company while I was learning the ropes. Had I had more experience I might well have gone for one and then added one or felt confident to have one and be it's mate. They're the best of friends. I often feel like a gooseberry when they're chatting and playing kiss chase!
