I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was wondering if anyone can advise whether there's anything specific you should do when your budgie moults? Sky is having her first moult and I only have to look at her and a feather falls off! I give her egg food once a week, but apart from that she isn't keen on any fruit or veg. I was wondering if there is anything I should be doing to help her through it or whether the egg food alone is enough? (obviously she has this as well as her seeds).

Does she not like broccoli, or sweetcorn mintysowner, I can't get my boys to eat ordinary broccoli, but they love Tenderstem Broccoli. I think some members feed Groats when their birds are moulting, I give mine Whole Oats for an extra bit of protein, you could also try them with some tonic seed.

Poor Sky. She must be so confused. Her first molt. Eat broccoli, Sky. It will make you feel better.

I give my lot egg and sweetcorn when they are in moult You may find that she can be moody at this time too (being a hen) and perhaps a bit more bitey (than normal)
