I really hope this is not a health issue, but given that Charlie is, assuming correct info when I rehomed him, about 10 years old, I am wondering if I am seeing the start of a problem.
My two flyers, Woody and Charlie, are out and about all the time and are both expert in getting from A to B. Although 7 years older than Woody, he keeps up pretty well with the green flash. Apart from landing spots around the cages and their playgym, they only ever land on the curtain rail and never anywhere else around the room.
That is until the last day or two. Yesterday I was topping up food in the big cage and looked round and found Charlie sitting on the table beside their lower cage. Very unusual. He sat there for about 20 seconds looking a bit bemused and then flew up to their high cage. I didn't think too much more about it.
But then this evening, I heard a distinctive sound - a thud really - and looked over to find Charlie on the floor. I think he must have collided with something. Again, he sat for a few seconds looking around him and then flew upwards.
Since then he has seemed fine, chatting up the playgym and is now feeding alongside Woody but I am a bit concerned about this development. I know he can't go on forever but is really is my Charlie Darling (and my favourite, if it is permissable to say such a thing!) and I will be very, very sad when it is time for him to go.

Oh, poor Charlie. I hope this isn't the beginning of his happy days as well. All you can do is keep an eye on him closely for the next little while and see what eventuates. Hopefully it was simply an off day or two and he will spring back to normal.

Best wishes for Charlie, hoping it is not the start of anything bad. Joey is a bit of a poor flier. He is not able to manage more than one trip around the room without losing height.

I do hope Charlie is ok, a silly question really but has he lost any of his big flight feathers lately, im sure you would have noticed this but just a thought.

Thanks all for good wishes from me and Charlie! And skysmum - I think you are onto something as he did lose a big feather a couple of days ago and them on cleaning up last thing yesterday I found two more. This has possibly just affected his balance a bit more than it used to. Here's hoping its just that. He is in hearty voice today, cheering on Scotland at the rugby! .

Lots of love to wee Charlie. The feather loss seems like a good explanation so fingers crossed it's just that.
