I made mention recently about some zebra finches I was working on. Shirls, was interested, I think, so here is my (almost) finished project. I could have ironed it before taking the photos. I say almost finished, as the design is given with some outlines done in black. I am not sure I want to do that, or that the picture needs it.

Beautiful, stunning sometimes less is better on outlines. Perhaps outline the branches, facial features and wings on the chest to give it definition. I always think black can be harsh what about dark brown.

OMG That is BEAUTIFUL! Hezz this is just wonderful, I LOVE IT! You kept that quiet madam didn't you? I love it - when I did my budgie one it called for outlines but I didn't do them either and agree with suesbird sometimes less is more

I have done the beaks, although I have one square under the black outline that I cannot read the symbol for, so this is still blank and so the second beak not entirely finished. I am waiting for the woman who does these to get back to me on that one. But I think I will leave it at that, for the outlining. There is outlining on the underneath of the branches, some on the tail of the bird on the left, and on their feet as well. I don't think any of these are needed. I also added another leaf .......... shhhhhh Thank you everyone for your kind words.

Oh WOW WOW WOW Hezz. That is beautiful! I know what you mean about the black lines, all I would say is do a couple where suggested and see what you think. You can always undo them!! I had lines to be done on mine, I did some, not others and unpicked the ones I didn't like! You have really done a fantastic job there and chose a brilliant picture to do. Well done! Whats next??

Excellent idea. It may be just that you need to complete the blank part of the canvas with just plain white, which makes the birds stand out more. Just a thought?

That's lovely Hezz. I used to do so much cross stitch. It's a nice relaxing hobby to do on long cold nights, but I don't suppose that you get many of those in your neck of the woods.

I love to cross stitch but not done any for a couple of years. I had one of those tall standing lights in brass with magnifying glass, pattern holder and day light bulb. Where is it now standing next to Jo's cage with her sun lamp in it! I might have to rescue it as people on here keeping putting ideas in my head and I have to go and start projects up again!
