I have watched Edward and a lot of tail bobbing. I noticed just now that he has what appears to be a blocked nare. Need I be worried about this please. Especially with regards to spreading it to Joey & Whiskers.?

No the nare is not blocked, it was the angle that I was looking at. They do appear small though at the side of Whiskers and Joey. The tail bobbing is quite noticeable. Should I still be worried?

May just be first day nerves? I just caught up with everything and seem you have rehomed Edward I tell you OP, you have caught the bug! See how she is tomorrow with the tail bobbing. How small are the nares?

You will be as nervous as Edward OP, which is understandable with a new bud in the house. I hope she settles and you have no cause for concern.

Edward is about the same size as Whiskers lemonade but the nares are a fair bit smaller. If I look at any other angle than straight on they almost disappear. I crept into the kitchen real quiet and she was just sat on a perch with hardly any tail movement, but as soon as she saw me the tail bobbing started. So it could be excitement. She doesn't wheeze or anything so I wouldn't think she had breathing problems. I understand what you are saying jellybean and I seem to be nearly as concerned as I was with Whiskers. She is a different budgie to either Joey or Whiskers, apart from being a female. See what tomorrow brings.

Sounds like she is just settling in. Probably from upheaval but am sure it won't be long before she is fine
Have u got your webcam you can watch more on?

Hens tend to have smaller nostrils than the boys. Whether this is just the way it is or to do with the crusty buildup from their cycles, I am not sure.

Thank you Hezz. Probably more dainty seeing as they are female. I have noticed there is no sign of a brown crust on the cere. It appears white.
