Hi, I'm Susan from Australia...we have two budgies - 1yr Harlequin female, (Brienne - will post some photos of her, later) and a 3 month blue, with white wings, (Jon Snow)...he is in my profile pic, with another we bought, at the same time. Sadly she, (Arya), passed away 4 days after coming home. Jon Snow was a little down for some weeks - he would only play for a while, but has been a different boy after getting his new friend - never stops - plays, chirps and eats, like there is no tomorrow! lol...it's great to see such a change...hopefully next summer they may have some babies I have always had budgies, throughout my life - have only bred them once before - from two show birds, that my Nan gave me as a teenager - looking forward to having some more in the future. I've been reading through the other posts and this seems a lovely bunch of folk here, with lots of great advice...Thank You, for allowing me to be part of this group

Hello Susan from Lismore, welcome to the forum; can't wait for photos of your two. Some decent photos and we should be able to tell you the proper mutations of your budgies.

Hello and welcome to the forum. The fountain of mirth and knowledge. Not always both at the same time. It sounds like you will have a good few of your own experiences to share with us. Look forward to the photos.

Hi Susannah, you will soon realise how obsessed, a little bit cheeky and as Shirls said 'budgie maniacs'
What I like most is that you can talk budgies all day and nobody treats you as "mad, delusional and slightly crazy" and respects what you are saying, instead of looking at you and thinking "she's off again, talking about those damn birds". Mmmmmm perhaps they are thinking that now that they know me!!!!!! oooooops

Harlequin is just another name for a recessive pied, they are not mutually exclusive. It is not a term used much outside the States.
