Wow that is brilliant Daz . This is exactly what i have left to do with mine. One question, will you make a safety door at the entrance? Not yet. I have a door on the tunnel entrance that I can close and keep them in if needs be. I was thinking of bring the main shed door cage to meet the flight cage, and have another door. This may happen, but not yet. I need a rest!

You'll get there mate. Things take time. I guess having woodwork as a hobby helps me build quickly. Careful planning also helps

Wow that is brilliant Daz . This is exactly what i have left to do with mine. One question, will you make a safety door at the entrance? I forgot to add to my earlier reply skysmum, I really have no need to enter this flight unless to do maintenance. I can replenish the food pot from the outside using a funnel through the mesh. Likewise for emptying it, I have a small tube that I put onto the end of my hoover pipe for when cleaning in the breeding cages through the cage fronts, saves disturbing the birds too much. Also the birds have taken to coming in when I shake the seed jar, so once inside I could just close down the tunnel door.
A safety door is a must if it is your main entry/exit point, which is why I have one on my main shed door. A good point well raised!

Just one thing, i hope you don't mind me saying but i never put food in the outside flight with my old aviary, it can encourage four legged furries, also if you only feed inside they will always go back in.

Another good point well raised. I am yet to see anything other than my German Shepherd and 2 Yorkies in our rear garden, apart from Robins and Blue Tits, and the pesky wood pigeons! Perhaps the dogs are why I don't see any squirrels/rats/mice etc? However, the minute I do see anything remotely interested in the food pot it will be removed, thanks for the heads-up.

Ive got a JRT and they got past her . Many years ago i walked into the inside of the aviary to find a mouse dining at the feeder, i watched him a couple of nights later scale the boards at the bottom, through the mesh, which i couldn't believe it would fit through, run up the side wall and through the bob hole . It was double meshed after that and i never had another problem. Just one to be aware of .

Are you going to double-mesh it, Daz?

Daz, how is the frame fixed to the cement pavers, or does it just sit? You have probably explained in your post, but I know little about building; would appreciate a 101 for dummies, please. Hezz, cant answer for Daz but looking at the pics the flight area is secured to the shed so the overall weight of the whole building "should" be secure enough as not to lift...hth Thank you steve05412
