Thanks Daz. No not too much really. Have to run electrics to inside and finish boarding out the inside and just a few touching up bits. I'm thinking of just leaving the floor as is (paving slabs). Do you think that will be ok? cleaning wise? Also been deliberating over feeders but have ordered some now so hopefully nearly there..

For feeders I just use long shallow dishes, either china or plastic. I have to open the doors to get them in which is the only problem. I may have to make some kind of hopper that fills from the outside but feeds the inside as my flock is getting bigger now I've taken in some rescues. Slabs should be ok. I put shingle over my slabs so the poop can just blend in, and I'll give it a raking every now and then. If it is inside or undercover you could use shavings as well, and just hoover them up periodically. Just be mindful that fresh shavings can take a lot of moisture out of the air.

Yes I saw your picture and it does look good. Trying to not spend out too much more at the mo but may do that later. I'm only having 4 buds in there but think I'm going over kill on the feeders until they get used to it. Don't want them going hungry.

They'll soon find it, inquisitive little darlings they are. You're doing a grand job there, well done!

Look forward to seeing your buds in the new aviary FFG. Remember to let your little boy out first though

Yes I guess I should. It's been 12 hours since he had the banana so he must be getting hungry again now

I'm guessing by your forum name that you are in the services, so of course you're a decent chap. All of us that are in the services are good people with other people's interests and safety before ours! How long you been doing it?

I've been a police officer for 19 years. Oh how things have changed I read earlier that there were something like 6 fire stations closed in London today, including the oldest fire station due to these budget cuts. That is so sad to see. I'm sure you'll say the same; if it wasn't for politicians, red tape and bureaucracy, this would be the best job in the world.

Please don't arrest me then for keeping my son in a cage officer! Yes 10 stations closing I believe and Clerkenwell is 140 years old. Sad to see that history go and sad that all you hear about is cuts and how companies have to squeeze every ounce out of everything whatever the job may be! Fancy going into business aviary building?!

Fancy going into business aviary building?! Lol, how easy would that be A pile of wood, some screws and nails, bit of netting, viola! an aviary
My wife always said I should take up carpentry/joinery as a trade. We'll be ok, if it goes up in flames you can put it out
