When I collected Bonnie and Tyler, the chap I got them from put Bonnie in his pocket while I chose another budgie! I'm wondering if it's not Bonnie's claws that are a problem for her as I mentioned somewhere else! Could she have a weak leg from being none to gently handled by her breeder when I got her? She seems to get stuck sometimes when climbing round the bars and has difficulty freeing her left foot from certain swings and toys. I'm just wondering if it could be a weakness from mis-handling as he did appear (to me) to be a bit rough with her?

He put her in his pocket? What a strange thing to do. My Opal has the same problem. I thought it was her claws but they seem fine. She has problems with her feet and has since I rescued her. One of her toes that should face backwards didn't. She would perch with it hooked over towards the front. She is better but still does it on some perches. I think it was due to her having the wrong size perches, all the same size and all with sanded covers on them.

Thanks SQ yes I thought it was rather strange putting a budgie in his pocket and was going to object but didn't because I didn't think we'd be that long, he may have said that he knew what he was doing after all he had cages full of birds and .....he may have charged us more! Terrible hey! I'll have to keep my eye on her that's all, perhaps she'll grow out of 'it'? Hopefully!

Thank you mintysowner I'm hoping it will continue to improve as she settles in and gets used to her new home, she certainly gets around ok but sometimes Tyler pesters her and I think she gets a bit panicky! Trying hard not to interfere although I'm afraid I did the other night when they were starting to settle for the night and she wouldn't leave Mischief alone until she got where she wanted and Mischief fell to the floor (again!). Gave Bonnie good telling off and stood there hovering until they all settled!

JoJo has feet problems. She has really stumpy little legs and often gets her foot caught on the bars. This I think is due to perches that were too large for her before she came to us (both her and Billybob) She's about 8 years old and has been with us for about a year and a half or so.
On another note. HE put her in his pocket?? sounds very unprofessional. Surely he could have got a little cage or something for her to keep her to once side for you. GRRRR!

Oh he asked if I'd brought anything to put her (them) in to take home, I thought being a breeder he'd have little boxes or something but no! Another surprise! Oh well, she seems alright really she's sprightly enough and keeps trying to put Mischief in her place! huh Funny it is, Bonnie's trying to become the equivalent of 'top dog' while Tyler seems to know his place as far as Mischief is concerned bless him, but he's still having problems with Bonnie, she can't seem to make up her mind if she's his friend or not She chases him away but when he goes to Mischief she comes and tries to butt in! The eternal triangle of luuuuvvvv

Well Bonnie seems to be doing ok and not hanging on trying to free her foot from entanglements so much now so I'm quietly positive that if she did have a 'lame' foot it's healing nicely
