What type of equipment do you use to weigh the buds please? That's for anybody who cares to answer.

I use some ordinary kitchen scales: like these and one of these carry cages:

Thank you. I might have to invest in something. I don't have any scales at the moment.

As to what do I use? A set of digital scales, is all. I pop the birds on the scales with my hands cupped around them, and give a few seconds for the birds to settle. Once the weight seems to be stable, I wait a few more seconds to see if there is any change, and that is the weight I record.

Well Hezz, you have your birds a little better trained than me! Mine wriggle!! Oh, well, what can I say? I have the perfect budgies; no one ever does a naughty thing ..... If only!!!! Mine wriggle as well, but they are possibly more used to being held. They do try to step back up onto my fingers ..... getting their little feet off is probably the hardest part!

Hector always gets weighed first. It's hard to stop him from jumping back onto the weighing cage when budgies number 2 is in it

We joke that Roswell could pull trucks, he's that strong I thought Roswell would have weighed the most out of your gang, with his show genes & possible distant link to my pudding girls (who were 'big-boned').

Roswell is very strong and muscular, he climbs a lot because his flying isn't great. But he's not a big eater. So he keeps slim I guess

Thanks Marianne Marlow and Hezz, something I DON'T have to worry about at last!! Nice to know all your buddies weights too. I weigh mine by putting them in the little carry cage and then onto the digital scales. And yes Marianne, Harvey is an exhibition budgie (or was!)

Was reading this post earlier and realised I've never weighed my budgies! So I've just weighed them all and this is the results. Sunny - 50g Sansa - 55g (she needs a diet!) Spyro - 45g Little Strudel poodle is just 41g
