Cagney has eaten quite a bit of millet this evening & my arm was aching from holding it up (in the manor loft area). I have been following him around all day with different food, in the hope of offering him something he fancies at the right time! Peas were pretty much welcome any time. For some reason, once out of the manor this morning, he did not want to return, so has rotated his sleeping spots around the room (on the manor, ferplast, playgym, window perch) during the day. This evening I had to grab him to put him back. I wonder if he associated the manor with being grabbed to be put in the travel cage... If that is the case, it will be reinforced tomorrow morning! With luck he will not have lost any more weight (one of the concerns) & his temperature will be lower (another concern). He has been passing poops during the day but I'm expecting his last lot of millet to produce some nice ones.

He may be associating the cage with not feeling well. I am sure Smudge did. There were times when she was almost manic about getting out. Good luck xxx

Not too bad.... As a blockage was ruled out, the vet now thinks it's just an infection, in which case medication will sort it out. His temperature is still too high but lower than on Saturday. Same for his heart rate too. Unfortunately the medication is to be given orally & twice a day. I find Cagney more difficult to hold than Bezukhov so I'm not looking forward to that... We are to have a follow up next Tuesday, assuming he doesn't get worse in the meantime. He seems slightly more animated today but is still weak & sleeping a lot. I am having to keep an eye on Phineas as he can come across a bit aggressive when he's flirting! How is Alfie??

Be a good boy for your mom, Cagney. The medicine she is giving you will make you feel better. Hugs to everyone.

Here is a photo of Cagney & Bezukhov that I took yesterday.... I know Cagney has always been slightly smaller than Bezukhov, but I have never seen this much difference before. It almost looks like an optical illusion... I don't know whether Cagney is just particularly small as he's ill or whether Bezukhov has turned into a fatty or it's a combination of both.

Have you got another of the two of them, from a while back, to compare?

Have you got another of the two of them, from a while back, to compare? Here is one from 2.5 weeks ago: Thinking about it, I know that Cagney can get really tiny at bedtime. Sometimes he seems to shrink into the perch. I suppose because he's been ill he did his shrinking during the daytime.

I think too he was sitting lower if you know what I mean. Yes, & they can move their necks quite a way, up & down.... remarkable creatures really. Worrying creatures but also remarkable...
