So here's my 10 week old billie in his new home (had him nearly a week) Someone commented that the material made colourful perches aren't very suitable if it's his main/favourite spot as it doesn't promote good balance. And one hoot higher than the other. I've straightened the top back perch after the comment was made. Just after thoughts.

Normally Billie would roost on the highest available perch, which appears to be the one at the front of the picture. It is difficult to see from the picture but do either the water or seed pots go under or nearly under the perch at the front of the picture? If they do then I would move the perch further into the cage so that the contents of the containers don't get soiled.

That's a good spot. There could be a chance of soiling. Once I turned the lights off he went up to the front high wooden perch. Just put lights on to take picture.

Moved it back a bit. But starts to look cramped.

Personally I'd have the seed and water pots higher up.

Personally I'd have the seed and water pots higher up. They can't be moved higher, as that's where they are designed to fit. He's had no trouble eating.

I can't see a mineral block. They are usually pink and can be bought for very little in most pet shops.

You could always buy different pots. Bailey wouldn't use the cage ones. He has a water tube and a food dish, that hooks on

Now for my considered opinion: I would take everything out and swing the perches around the other way, running front to back of the cage, leave the centre of the cage clear for freedom of movement, place the toys to the sides of the cage, get hook-on feeders so food and water can be up high, replace the dowel perch with proper tree branches, and have just the one cotton perch. By leaving the centre of the cage free, you will allow Billie to get some exercise playing by himself when he is shut in.

What Hezz said also I see your cuttlefish is on the side, budgies tend to find it more appealing when it's flat. I don't know why but I read it somewhere and once I changed the position of it Sky started using it more. You can get like a clip that can hold it flat, sky sometimes looks like she's on a surfboard when she's on it Also remember to keep an eye on bells as they can go rusty fairly quickly and you don't want Bille ingesting it. Hope that helps

Thank you for the advise yeah I wanted to have the perches front to back at the start, I'll change it bit by bit. Just need to make the perches. Why should the good and water be high? He knows where it is and uses them.
