Hey all!
Back again with another question concerning Charlie (who lost his voice a few weeks ago)... just an update on that, the antibiotics did the trick and he's due a return visit to the vet tomorrow.
However, next week my family is having new carpets fitted. Initially they were doing downstairs one week and the staircase/landing the following so I was just going to put him on the unaffected floor but now both are being done on the same day and I'm not sure what to do. I've seen conflicting reports of people's birds being fine and in danger when new carpets are being put down and some people saying they should be in a different place all together for a week or so.
I don't think I can really move him to another house for more than a day because he's very high maintenance. He has me around 24/7 as I work from home, so.... well, let's just say separation anxiety is strong in this one! He also can't fly so a little extra care has to be taken in making sure he's OK and entertained and I feel worried about leaving him with someone else.
There are a couple of rooms in the house that aren't being touched and the only option would be to put him in there and ventilate as much as possible. I also have use of a large fan I could face away from him.
Is that going to be enough or will it be a serious danger to leave him in the house immediately after they've been fitted?

I don't know, but my gut says an unaffected room should be ok. Would it be too draughty with a fan? I am very susceptible to smells but a different room shouldn't smell.
Others on here would know
Good luck at the vet

In an unaffected room should be okay. Keep the door closed. Carpet is not something I know a whole heap about, but just make sure he is separated from the ....... I suppose it is fumes from the glue, that you are worried about???
