Pictures of budgie ceres are needed. Attached to budgies preferably. A good clear picture of the cere, taken in natural daylight and suitable for gender identification. A short passage on the characteristics of your budgie would also be appreciated, such as it bites like a ravaged mad dog,, or it's as gentle as a kitten. I'm sure you get the idea. Why do I/we need this, first off we love to see and hear about all the budgies, second I am putting together a FAQ project to help the new members with their questions and maybe some of us more long standing members answer a question we were too afraid to ask. I do need to make you aware that any pictures uploaded may be used within the FAQ for illustration purposes. A picture similar to this is what I am looking for. A picture like this is not really what we want, however if you have a story to tell then by all means add it. Thank you for your participation.

Is this pic any good for your needs OP? It is of Pickle, my pet shop bought budgie. She is an Albino hen with red eyes. She, like Billy Boy is a live wire and very tiny.

Got another one OP. This is of Harvey when he was well, my exhibition breed cock budgie. He was a green cinnamon opaline. I know I shouldn't say it but he was my favourite.

I've only had her a week, but doesn't bite at all even when scared. Very inquisitive to new toys and foods. Babbles away to herself.

Pickle is a fine example of how different the cere can be for different mutations. It seems a trait amongst the smaller breed of budgie that they are lively. They seem to have a never ending amount of energy. Don't be surprised if you see pickle in another thread.

It's pleasure to try and help the good people of the forum, staff included. You must have a hell of a job keeping us lot in check. So it's time to give something back. It is time consuming so it would be a burden on top of the good work that you and Hezz do.

If you wish to post another photo of Lucy, ciderminx. Perhaps reduce the original if you wish.

Got this one of Opal but it might be too big. She was in breeding condition. When I got her her previous owners thought she was male because of her blue cere. As for her temperament, she is the boss of the whole aviary and has a perch all to herself that she defends by bashing anyone who comes near. Feel free to resize the picture OP,

Thank you Starlingqueen, Opal will be a great example to show how varied the cere can be. Thank you Marianne, what a great selection. Once again the variation in cere colour is so prominent in some of the birds.
This is going to be great fun and hopefully helpful.
