I'm very sorry but please don't stress yourself too much about the details, I'm absolutely sure you wouldn't have seen it coming in any way. Sometimes a pet dies and we don't get the answers we feel we need. Inca's loss will be hard on you all and it seems poor little George especially. Focus your love on them the way Inca would've wanted you to instead of dwelling on the events of the last 24 hours. Big hugs from me x

I am so sorry and distressed to be reading this, skysmum. I am so sorry for your loss, and the other buds'. Your gut feelings yesterday were right, unfortunately. Something I do remember reading is that they can get busy with their grit and blocks when unwell, and at these times it is better to remove them so that they can't make things worse. It seems that they are trying anything they can to make themselves feel better. While you will never know for sure what poor Inca's problem was, it is likely that your instincts regarding an egg might have been correct, poor little girl. Hugs from me and mine, Annette xxx Rest in Peace, sweet Inca; know that you were well loved and being missed by us all.

I'm crying quiet tears for you. So sad and a huge shock as it was so sudden. I hope you can take comfort in the fact you sensed something wasn't quite right so you were with her and she passed feeling the warmth and love from your hands. So sorry xxxx

Thank you so much to everyone. Ive spent the night going over and over my should have list, i should have removed her from the boys altogether knowing her history with egg problems, i should have removed all the grit ( which i have done today because the other girls are munching ), i should have noticed it sooner etc etc. I will drive myself round the bend because that's what i do when i cant find an answer, im a bit like that . I was considering letting Eve or Isla have a little clutch of bubs but the whole thing has put me right off thinking it could have been an egg problem . Got to sort little George out today, he is so distressed, unusually so and he is not eating much , onwards and upwards i have to move forward for the other little mites. Thanks again all xx

So sorry to hear this skysmum Easy to say but don't be too hard on yourself. I beat myself up when I lost my little guy a couple of months ago. We want answers but most of all we want them back Take care

I am really shocked to read this skysmum. Inca was so special, (so like my Lacey who passed earlier this year). We all know that Inca couldn't have had a happier, more comfortable, (spoilt) life anywhere else, you take so much care of your buds. Love and hugs to you and little George, take care and don't beat yourself up, it's nothing you did or didn't do, it was Inca's time. RIP beautiful Inca - say hello to Lacey and all the other birdie friends.

skysmum, please stop beating yourself up. You are a responsible bird owner. Don't you think that if you had known what was wrong, you'd have remedied it. You didn't know, you couldn't have. Be kinder to yourself
