Hi all. Georgie loves this weaved straw type stuff as seen on the toy in the link below. These toys are demolished in days. He's not bothered by the bell or wooden blocks, just the weaved bits. I'm sure I've seen it in someone's cage. Any idea where I can get it? www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/131691096475

Oh great, thanks Jane. I don't like the metal bells on these eBay toys so I'll get myself to Pets At Home.

I don't know if I'm being overprotective but I only let Squawk play with Shredders (or toys that have material on them), under supervision. I even take it out of his cage at bedtime as I would hate for him to get tangled in a long strand. Id rather be safe than sorry.

I'm the same Jane. This is on his play gym. Mostly because of the bell but also because of the tangle hazard.

Hezz wouldn't you recommend the palm leaf stuff then? I don't have toys with loose threads or rope. The only toys he has in his cage for unsupervised play are things from Karen.

Mine have had these kind of toys and they go through them very quickly. I've bought from Amazon and from Karen at Natural Bird Co. (uk)

I think the plaited leaves are fine; I have done the same for my own with leaves from my own palms as I thought it a good way to make something different. It is the pinata with the long strands, in the other link, that I didn't like. I just thought that you might not have thought about making your own toys with goodies sourced from other places ......

Karen sent me a lovely package a while ago with various bits in for me to make my own toys with, which I do but he seems particularly keen on this palm leaf shredding stuff. I've ordered some off eBay. His lordship will be pleased!

Oh I have about a metre of that stuff! It's wrapped around the bits of the cage Sky is in as she decided to pull the paint off so I've disguised it with this material lol. Karen sent me it from the natural bird company too so I know she def does it also, don't know what price it is tho. Hope he enjoys it !
