Hi Joey! Chip is a lovely budgie! What beautiful colours.. Do you know how old he is? It's so easy to get worried after losing a budgie friend to illness. Chip looks bright and attentive in the photos so try not to worry too much. If you are still concerned, ask a question in the health section and someone should be able to help you. After only a week the little guy will still be settling in too so maybe just needs a bit more time.

I am freaking out about this tail bobbing business, it varies at times. I was looking at him earlier when he couldn't see me, he was about 10 feet away from me and I couldn't see it bobbing. But I don't know if that was because I was too far away! Then an hour later I came back in the room, turned light on, walked over to him and it seems to be bobbing more ! I am gonna have to force my parents to take him to the vet if it carries on for more than 2 weeks, 1 week down, 1 to go!

Just keep an eye on the tail bobbing, I had a boy budgie that just did that as a normal thing. I was freaked out for a while, but he seemed healthy and happy and chatty, and nothing changed! So I relaxed

Don't worry about minor tail bobs, more often than not this is just natural

Change of place, cage and environment is stressful for budgies. They take from a week to a few weeks adjusting in the new place. I buy all my budgies from pet stores and I notice similar things all the time. Don't worry, Chip will be alright soon. BTW, he is a beauty, looks like a baby male spangle to me.
