I meant to add that the third photo, if the plant is the same thing that I know, has really sticky little seeds. Love your garden too, helenmat.

Thank you for all your replies, most helpful. It is was giant hogweed Hezz! What a nasty thing. Researched it on-line and it is very poisonous and apparently if you have lots of it growing you have to get the 'professionals' in to get rid of it. Anyway, thanks to you, it is no more. I went out there at 6.30 this morning and dug it up. Fortunately it had shallowish roots so was easy to get up. I now have the problem of getting rid of it - I think I will burn it!!!! As for the other two, they may be permitted to stay!

What a fantastic garden helenmat, love the pictures. Chickens would ruin that in no time I must say!! Thanks skysmum, I really don't know how I coped with all this, especially as this latest episode was my fault. Just wondering where I go from here now. The other two chooks have gone broody on me and are a nightmare, whinging to go in the nest box all day long!!

Not in my jungle, but in my back garden: It was quite tricky to line and fill with earth as it is really quite difficult to get things through the small gaps, but I felt it was worth it and I was quite pleased with the result. It's hanging on the palm tree.

Oh, Shirls, what is it with your broody chooks? I hope things sort themselves out for you soon. Are they pansies or violas in the basket? A great look, whatever they might be.

A few pics (before I lose them) of my front garden jungle. From the front looking up towards the house (you can just see how next doors house is almost a floor level lower than mine, we live on a hill) From the side: Views from the top, looking down to the road:

Wow! I'm gobsmacked by the shear size of the garden. Do you have another garden where yoou keep the chooks? I've enough just looking after one garden postage stamp.

Yes OP. The pics are of the front garden jungle. The chooks are in the back, I'm sure I've posted pics of that before, but as you say, there is quite a large area to tend to. We have concentrated on the back more so far, except for trimming a few big shrubs/trees at the front, otherwise I wouldn't be able to see out!! When I say 'we' I mean my daughter and her OH as well as myself. It is a funny little bungalow I live in, but I love it, it's a bit messy outside but looking after it keeps me occupied!!

It looks as though you will get exercise going up and down the terraces.

It looks as though you will get exercise going up and down the terraces. There are also 13 steps and a path up to my front door from the road!!

I don't need to guess who's counted them. I would need a stair-lift to get up there nowadays.
