A fourth one has hatched today I also discovered somthing absolutely incredible!!! The first baby is albino!! I noticed yesterday all the other chicks have dark black eyes & the first one didn't at all and I was begining to get worried it might have hatched blind or something then it dawned on me it could be just an albino mutation! I did some research and it looks like I'm right!! I don't know if they are rare or not but I'm just really excited about it, I love all the wonderful color combos budgies can turn out to be but an all white silhouette budgie I think is just stunning. Also for Olives first clutch ever and my first experience with this as well I didnt think it was realistic, I feel so lucky. Heres and attatched photo below & Ill take an update one of the whole clan sometime today when Mom isn't watching

It is probably more likely that the red eyes belong to an lutino or creamino. Time will provide the answer.

Yes after that post I did some more research and found out it could be other possibilities. I just don't know much about the different mutations or genetics yet but I'm eager to learn. I also made another thread in the genetics & color forum to see if anyone may know what types of babies they might've produced. Either way I'm looking forward to what kind this one may be

Im sure they will all be beautiful, just like their parents! I cant wait until all their feathers are in- the suspense is killing me. even if it doesnt turnout albino, it will be interesting to see what mutation it is.

So a bit of good and bad news today. The bad news is it looks like the fifth one has died in the egg. I was worried this would happen becasue I noticed the three left over eggs ( one being fertile ) were getting covered in droppings. I was concerned that bacteria may go throught the egg sense there so porous, I hope that wasnt the case. If so I really blame myself if there was something i shouldve done to prevet it. Either way I'm still pretty upset but I know these things can happen just wish the little guy/gall had a chance. Now, the good new is that the first one is now 9 days old and eyes are open, also the second one, now 7 days old, eyes are open too!! I didn't think they could get any cuter but there's something about knowing they can see you that really warms my heart even more Here is an updated photo of the gang after a quick check/cleaning & a photo of the eldest one.

Aww, my condolences Bailey. But take comfort in that maybe it just wasnt meant to be..sometimes not all eggs hatch. Id venture to say is far more common for one not to hatch than for them all to. Rest in piece dearest baby bud #5! But how absolutely adorable they are. Pink little wigglies. I cant wait until their feathers start to come in an we see them growing. Please keep posting their progress.

FALSE ALARM. Really, really sorry, looks like I spoke way to soon. Chick #5 popped up today after all! I guess he/she wanted to come in to the world with a surprise entrance haha. I'm learning more and more every day how unpredictable this process is but I've very greatful the last of the bunch is alive and well for now.
All the other babes are doing just as well & the first ones feathers are peeping out just alittle. Ill take an updated photo when I can.

A little update on the oldest chick. He/She is now 12 days old. From seeing other 12 day old chicks I feel like mine are progressing a little slower but maybe they just all kind grow at different speeds. Any way, flight feathers are very noticable now, starting to lift head up and looking very alert! H/S has even started to walk around some on my hand, stronger and stronger everyday. Here's some photos : It probably is still to soon to tell but by how much of the flight feathers are already developed and how they are looking pretty pale to me, I'd say this chick is Albino But of course time will confirm for sure. All other chicks are doing great as well, once they start showing more feathers I'll post an updated photo
