Before anyone asks, he doesnt have toys besides his bell because he doesnt play with them he does love to chew though which is why he has a great variety of things to chew on. (Cardboard, bamboo basket, his grapevine perch, his orange tree perch, his tissues.) He chews on his mineral block alot, but hasnt touched his cuttle bone... He loves to jump from his swing to perch, back and forth, and to enthusiastically ring his bell like a mad man! Ha! Does anyone else have a budgie that doesnt like toys, and have you found a good 'toy' they can shred and liked?

Nope, my boys love their toys if you can buy balsa wood and make Juju some toys from that I'm sure he'd love to shred them, my two love balsa. This website link will give you a few ideas of Balsa wood toys you could make, this is where I buy mine, but I know you live in Chile, so I'd imagine the P&P charges would be a bit hefty, but you might get some ideas as to the kinds of toys you could make:- Naturalbirdco.co.uk

Thank you jellybean for the link, I will definitely be looking into balsa wood! I thought maybe I can get him one of those disco balls with the bell attached, since he likes bells. This weekend I will be making a trip to the shop obviously

May I suggest not taking away the toys just because he doesn't play with them. If they aren't there, he can't get curious and give one a bop on passing by, which could lead to a new discovery of rattling beads, etc Keep them in the cage and one day he might just surprise you. Also, the little baskety thing you have there; make sure you remove that when the time comes for the two birds to be together - this is just the sort of thing Pina could view as a nesting site.

Oh yeah, I was just thinking of that today! But I will definitely take it out before then I will put his toy back then, and leave it alone, only time will show us if he plays with it.

milliej its because there is so much room, they havent had time to explore and play with all the toys they've turned into toilets I have a video of juju vigorously ringing the bell in the left back corner, but everytime I try to upload to tinypic or photobucket, it never finishes loading. It is quite funny to watch him grab the chain and use his whole body to shake it!

I have a bird that LOVES everything bells. So I bought a variety of toys that had bells...as well as some plain unpainted metal Christmas ornaments that were just a metal tree with bells.

Make sure your metal toys have no rust or do not develop rust. Stainless steel bells are really the only way to go. Buy once, they never need to replaced.
