Hi everyone! I haven't been posting much in budgie forums lately, but this seems like a nice & active site! I'm Kim from the Clearwater/Tampa area in Florida, USA. I currently have 9 pet budgies, all but one of whom are related to each other. I also have a German Shepherd, a lab mutt, a kitteh and 4 button quail Hope everyone had a Happy New Years' Eve last night. No hangover for me, just a sore throat from too many spicy Bloody Marys, lol.

hello welcome to the forum, your story of your budgie hatching the quail is brilliant lets just hope her instincts allow her to do a good job with the chick

Haha thank you Dan! Unfortunately, my hen didn't follow through on rearing, so the little quail is learning to peck at crumbles in a makeshift incubator He's done his first poo, and is now cheeping for me from across the room lol.

Cheers everyone and thanks! I keep my budgies in a sort of apartment cage, that has 3 separate levels so I can keep the younger birds from going after the older ones. I used to keep them all together in a large indoor aviary, but had to go to this current setup after ones of my hens viciously attacked one of my other girls. Lots of vet bills for that incident!
