His test weren't good. He might not have vision even after the op. His retina isn't showing much signs of activity. I feel sick. Have we put him through all this for nothing? Just had a call while typng. He's had the op and coped very well with the anaesthetic so now we just have to hope he can see. Even if he can't see perfectly anything is better than nothing.

Got my fingers crossed for some positive news starlingqueen. We can only do what we think is best for our pets, as you have done. Don't give up hope just yet.

Perhaps it might take a while for 'readjustment'? Let's hope little Teddy is ok though and gets some benefit, you did your best, can't do more.

Well, he's home but not a happy boy. He just keeps crying. Wandering around making an awful noise. The only way he would stop was for me to sit with him holding him. He has never been a lap dog so it is unusual for him. He could just be feeling really rough. His insulin is all out of sequence, that and the anaesthetic is going to make him feel bad let alone the sore eye and a cone on his head. We think he has some vision. He usually flinches when we pass street lamps in the car, the sudden flash makes him think something is going to hit him since he's lost his vision, but on the way home he didn't flinch once. He also followed my husband, moving his head, as he walked past him. He has his eye shut mostly though so it's hard to tell to what degree he can see at the moment. I think this will be another long night on the sofa for me. He has 2 lots of eye drops, one 3 times a day and one twice a day. Anti inflammatory medicine once a day and antibiotics twice a day.

Poor little Teddy. I do feel for him. There's nothing worse than coming out of anaesthetic. He is definitely worse off than I am and I feel grotty. You both might get a good nights sleep on the couch.
