Do any of you clean the nest boxes out when the eggs are In there at all as all my females have threw the shavings out onto the floor so the nest boxes are empty apart from the eggs and obv it's better to have a layer of shavings I'n when they hatch?

Best to do it now,pop the eggs in some cotton wool and put shavings in not saw dust, put your eggs back.......

I wait until all eggs hatch. My most hens are very clean anyway.

Sorry Brian but i would never clean a nest box until there were chicks at approx 7 days old, hens might abandon the nest, eggs may become contaminated, just add a pinch of bedding each day.

Serz , this is not me having a go at you but a little bit of advice is offered and something i have found valuable;
I do notice you may ask the same questions several times and you are not alone, copy and paste the question and answers and file them on word in my ducuments, you will then create an additional book of budgie knowledge.

I can only work on advice given,or searched,and that was,..... You can lift the eggs out in to cotton wool,clean the nest box and replace, so I am rather confused now.........as you say, adding a little each day may be the best way to go

I do wonder when these eggs are removed if the owners put them back in the same position that the hen had rotated them too, i doubt it and it increases the chance of addeled eggs
