Hi steve thanks for the tips. Will deffo get the outdoor flight done next year. I will be having a work bench from the window to the door. On the gable end of the shed will be a junior flight and on the back 6 or 8 breeding cages not sure yet on size etc. Was going to make a bigger flight steve but only planning on keeping 50/60 birds so hopefully the flight will be big enough and easy enough to clean out. If its not big enough then yes steve i will bring to the door. Thankyou

Looks great , i was lucky enough, time wise, to be able to weather my mesh for 2 months but i still gave it a vinegar wash to be sure. Only tip for the mesh i have is to tack the diagonal corners first then stretch it from the middle out, if that makes sense. Its hard with the bigger areas.

Looks good James!
Don't rush the outside flight - avian flu about so better to go slow, concentrate on inside and give yourself time to plan the outside flight.
I would consider a solid floor if I were you. Paving stones or a layer of hard-core topped off with concrete. I have found this vermin proof, easy to scrub / pressure wash and long lasting.
I also have a low (single block) wall around the base of my outer flight... helps protect the woodwork by keeping it up off the ground, gives greater strength and is an additional barrier between birds if/when they go down to floor level and cats when they wander up to say hello. Just my preference. Some people have gravel floors with wire mesh below it to prevent critters burrowing up.
Cheap paving stones fitted closely together and plonked over settled compact ground would work.

Thanks learner great tips there! Yes will take it slow as running out of funds quickly! Lol
Some progress but not much i bought 3 breeding cages today that match the other 2 i have. I bought them in a untidy state. Needed cleaning and needed painting etc. I bought the last two stripped them sanded them painted inside and out new brass hooks painted the cage front and made them look like new so this is what im planning on doing to these pics to follow
I was wiring a plug for the inside of the house so i could turn lights on/off from inside the house ive slipped with a stanley cut my finger and thats me done for the day.. Pics to follow
