Aww nikkilev1985 , that's a bit sad isn't it? She must feel so vulnerable & scared when she finds she can't fly. I'm glad you're going to leave her flight feathers when she next moults. Are you in the UK? I've never heard of clipping budgies wings in the UK.

I didn't realize it wasn't done in the U.K. She is probably used to it so she isn't scared but she tries to fly after our cockatiel who does circles around the room and she ends up on the floor so I'm sure it's frustrating. It will be fun to see that spark return when she realizes she can whip around the room. 😊

No, I've never heard of wing clipping of budgies in the UK, I feel certain that it wouldn't be seen as an agreeable practice. Thank goodness your little budgie will be able to fly in the future.

It is frustrating when they can't fly but want to so badly. My youngest already had clipped wings and I can't wait for him to molt and fly. I had to make a crash pad around the cage for when he wants to follow my oldest. It's not something I would have done if it was a choice when we got him. Unfortunately I have to put a disclaimer on any pictures to avoid the discussion constantly. It won't be long and yours will be flying all crazy.

It's not common now, it used to be common years ago and some of the older generation still do it. Save
