As above when do you ring a chick. I belive its around 5/6 days old but just thought that i would check first. Im looking for a diagram also to show me how to do it and i have searched high on low on the net for one but cant cant find it anywere. Has anyone got a link to one please or detailed instructions on how to do it? 2 of my babies hatched this morning thanks in advance ;D

I usually ring the chicks when they are between 7 and 10 days old. If they are too small the rings fall off. Hold the 3 front toes together and slide the ring on, then gently hook the 4th toe out

It becomes easier with practice but if the foot is too small the ring may be lost. Picture below of one rung in 2009 and with one waiting for the foot to get bigger. albino.
