Hi john26285Welcome to the forum ! Have you any particular items in mind for the new aviary? Speaking from experience aviary birds don't need as many toys as house birds, house birds need the stimulation of toys and interaction with their owners, aviary birds are a flock, so as long as you supply them with the necessary perches, swings etc they will be happy, perches are important but if you install wooden dowl perches they will chew them out of boredom, if you put in apple tree branches for example, they will strip the bark and get nutrients from it, in my old aviary I had ropes, a large swing and apple tree branches, the rest of the space was dedicated to flying

Hi john26285, welcome to the forum, this is a great website for everything budgie, depending on how big your aviary is, they have swings of every shape and size, and if they don't have what your looking for they will make it for you. There are very few members on here who haven't bought something from them for their budgie/s:- www.naturalbirdco.co.uk/

I don't have an aviary, but from what I have seen, I would agree with @impeckably, in that aviary birds are more inclined to entertain themselves with exercise, rather than needing a ton of toys. An idea that impressed me was an old bicycle wheel with most of the spokes removed leaving just enough to keep the shape, and wooden pegs set into the rim to provide a ferris wheel sort of idea. Mounted on the axle of the wheel, it allows the wheel to turn with the weight of the budgie landing on the pegs. Rope (natural and untreated, of course, such as sisal)can be used as perches or swings. I would recommend that you source as many decent branch perches as you can, hang them in a way by which they can be easily changed around, both to provide stimulation and for cleaning purposes. No tassels, as they can be dangerous to a budgie, catching them by the feet, claws or even neck!
