I am aware that the blue sheen is due to her being a blue based albino (if i am saying that right)...but what I am confused about is the very light grey barring on her head....from what I read albinos are to have no pigment on them correct? she has no pattern anywhere else just the top of her head and I can see some on her cheeks as well. Is this still considered no pigment and still just albino? Also, I feel stupid for this question, but she has a massive tail base....much wider than all my other parakeets....is that normal? No I did not clip her wings they were clipped before I got her....didn't have a choice in the matter. Thanks for any help

Are her feet pink? She certainly looks like an albino; they can still have faint markings on their head and wings.

She looks like an albino to me. I had an albino hen and in a certain light I could also see the outline of the head bars. OP her eyes do look red and yes you're correct all the "-inos" have red eyes.

cricketsmama when you say that she had a "massive tail base" do you mean her tail seems wider i.e. her feathers are slightly splayed out? I have noticed this with two of the female budgies I have had, I do wonder if it's hormone related.

OP, she does have red eyes; it is possible that you can't see that. Sorry, that's a repeat of Marianne's post.

Ah yes. I have my screen showing heightened contrast and didn't notice the red eyes. When I put the screen to normal I can only see the suggestion of red eyes in the lower of the two photos. Thank you for pointing it out.
