Yes, I agree, jellybean. He is a real rainbow of colours, going from almost red, might even be red, to a deep indigo on his wing and tail feathers. Of all the conures, these guys are the most colourful, and my favourites.

He sure is beautiful. I would find it difficult to stop myself from ogling him. I think I would be just the same OP! I would never get anything done as I would want to be with him every moment of the day!!! What a gorgeous bird you are Loki and you have the best family to look after you to boot! Thank you so so much for sharing those beautiful pictures of him Hezz - I bet he is even more stunning/vibrant in real life! Look forward to those videos too...he sounds like a real character!

Marianne, I agree!! A little apprehensive, to be honest, but excited as well. His mad flapping glides to the floor are getting slightly longer each time he tries. His set-up has been moved from the kitchen to the lounge, and I a m not sure he is happy about it. I feel that he feels a little less connected to us(me!) there than when he was in the kitchen, even though he is closer to the budgies. (Had to snigger at Misty and Spyro in Loki's cage nibbling on his dropped corn, this afternoon.) So he has been a little more vocal the last couple of days .... or it could be OH's presence; maybe Loki became used to it just being the two of us and not happy for there to be another in the house. Op and Shirls, I spend sooo much time with him, just love the softness of his feathers, and having a cuddle. He is already being much more civilised with regard to my hair and my earrings, remembering what he was like only a month or so ago. Today I have not taken my earrings out at all. He is beautiful, and very much mine!!! Edit: Sam, he is a real time-waster! I get nothing done!!!

It's summer, it is 5.30am and it is light outside. I am creeping around the house silently cursing any floor boards that creak, any door that squeaks, because as soon as I make a noise Loki is onto me!! The first screech of the morning. OH trying to stay asleep .....

He is a beaut Hezz and those feathers are sure starting to come through I LOVE the way he holds bits in his little feet, how adorable is that . I don't get anything much done now, there would be Bob Hope and No Hope if he was mine Love how you have to tip toe around so as not to wake him too early

Tried him sleeping somewhere different last night, by putting him into one of the spare rooms, so he is not just outside the kitchen door. I should be able to get breakfasted, hopefully sort the budgies' grass, water, paper etc and be out the door before he is aware. I hate not seeing him in the morning, but unfortunately everyone in the house needs to be appeased. Someone doesn't like getting up too early. So far, so good. The real test will be moving the budgies' cages out into the living room. They do tend to rattle a little. skysmum, he is so dexterous with his feet, holding things; he even holds his little pellets sometimes and they are a little square about the length of a oat seed.

My yellow sided green cheek conure, Ginger, used to scream in the mornings. After asking around and reading conure message boards, I took the advice to put her in a sleeping cage in the room with us. This sounded like the worst advice ever, but it has been brilliant. The first night or two whenever we'd roll over or get up, she'd croak at us, but now she's quiet through the night. In the morning she quietly waits to be gotten out of her cage, watching us get up and get ready. I think the morning screaming was just calling for her flock, and now that she's spending the night with her flock, no screaming. My sister hesitantly did the same with her green cheek conure just earlier this week (after her family put their collective foot down regarding morning screaming) and her results have been the same.
