Phew - I'd be hard pressed to find a female name with Q that suited. Quentin suits him perfectly.

Queenie would be a girly name clt80! I do love Henry but I have a real soft spot for green budgies, hence my love for Quentin.

Quentin - his mum Shirley pulls this exact same face, like she is all indignant. Quentin does it too. Can you see how his feathers have started to turn blue on his lower abdomen?

I wonder if Quentin will be a blue boy when he's older

Wonderful pics, clt80! Perhaps you could try and take one of Quentin and his mum doing 'the face' together!

Look at him, a little corker he is . Im so glad he is well now clt80. It will be fascinating to see how he changes colour wise after his first moult, sometimes it's quite dramatic.

I'm not sure Marianne, I think he will be green but have the odd blue underneath. Agatha, Ralph and Mabel are green and they have bits of pale blue that appeared. So I think he will do the same. Shirls - He probably was doing that!!! skysmum I think they are starting their first moult; sheath feathers everywhere with the odd colour feather strewed around. There have been yellow now there are some blue feathers, so I'm thinking Cora started first with her moult and now Henry has started. They do make me laugh, they have their own little life going on in the dining room. Wonder what they will make out it in Spring when they go outside with the flock? Wonder what Shirley and John will think and how they will interact if at all with them. It's been so surprising with their colours - Quentin was the nearest colourwise to one of his parents, his mum Shirley. But she is a darker green and has no blue at all, whereas he is lighter and showing blue. Henry doesn't have the yellow face or yellow on his wings like John, but does have the blue feathers: where John is yellow Henry is white. As for Cora and Ida they obviously don't look anything like Shirley or John, although the paper I read on genetics has proven right that John has the lutino gene and any offspring he gives it to will be female. Speaking of parents - there have been no more eggs!! I have seen them at it outside on a branch but nope no egg - hurrah!!

Lovely to see the siblings all grown up and doing their own thing. Glad Quentin is over his belly-ache.

In other news... Cora and Henry are going through their first moult....they have pinnies on their heads. Henry is losing his baby bars ... Quentin isn't moulting yet....but he wanted his picture taken. Ida is on the swing behind him, goodness knows when she will have her first moult, she was nude for so long she's still getting use to having a full body of feathers.
