Well, he is veeery small and body part is like his father, quite small, narrow and I have heard many different types apart from English and Australian, such as Dutch, Czech, etc. What do you think?

He is a little smasher. He looks bold enough to be Australian. You will only know for sure when he starts talking. He will start saying "Where's my tucker, mate." when he wants some seed.

Heheh Thanks for the answers. jellybean OPHe is already talking actually. He started to talk already a month ago. He says 3-4 words. I train every day with many words but I can't see any development further. Maybe what I need to do is to stick to the one word, and after hearing it, I will go to the next word.

Hi eldiel. All budgies are descended from Aussie budgies. The one in your profile photo looks like the wild ones do. Wild budgies all look the same, which is light green. No mutations of other colours etc. seem to survive in the wild. The budgie you've bought lately looks to be an olive green one. Very cute, too. The ones you hear about that are Dutch, etc. are mutations that were developed in those countries, eg. the Dutch pied mutation was developed in The Netherlands, hence "Dutch". You hear a lot about "English" budgies, but that is to do with the fact that the budgies that were developed over there became more of the show standard than the ones we bred in Australia at that time, so "English" budgies are often used to describe show budgies, or budgies of a certain standard. In a nutshell, though, all budgies are Australian.

Your bird's a beaut! You may well find he "fills out" once he gets a bit older but either way he looks a stunner.
Great to see him looking so relaxed and tame - keep at it.
About 50 years ago, when I was a teenager, I bred my first lot of budgies - each of the young turned out to be a mixture of bands of white & blue or yellow & green (pure chance - nothing to do with my careful or knowledgeable selective breeding - joke). Someone from my local "Cage and Aviary Bird Society" told me they were Australian pied - heaven knows what that is. lol

Shirls His name is Zeytin, which means Olive in my mother tongue. You can hear how he says hi own name : sorry for the bad quality LearnerYes he is very tamed. Even I am writing, I hardly do because he is jumping from one of my hand to another. However, he is also naughty quite a lot. Somehow he loves to bite and I can't still get at what condition he bites. Today while I was talking to him in the morning (He loves to touch my lips and listen) he bite my lip and first time it bleed. If I would solve his bite issue, he would be the flawless. He also let me strach him before, but now anymore. Otherwise he is so good Marianne Marlow jellybean OP

Love the video clips especially the shower under the running tap - he is one very tame little budgie.
As for biting - maybe if you try to distract him away from biting you to nibbling at something else... perhaps a small sprig of millet spray although you do not want him to think that if he bites he gets a treat.
You would need to look out for the bites coming and take action just before hand - perhaps saying "No" and moving away from at the same time. Whatever you do be consistent so he gets to know the same thing will happen every time he goes to bite.
He seems a very bright bird.

Lovely video's eldiel. He really does seem a very intelligent bird and so young!! I hope you don't mind me saying eldiel but toys with tassels and any string type things are a real no no for budgies. They can eat/injest them and this will cause no end of stomach problems. Plus of course they can get tangled in tassels, feet, claws or even get their head stuck. If you weren't present to deal with this should it happen it would be catastrophic! I would remove anything like that. I understand from members on here that if you cut the tassels really short you can fasten it with what we call a plastic cable tie. Zeytin is a really lovely bird, you will obviously be able to teach him loads of things to say.

Well, everything is bought as a bird toy, mostly German brand trixie. He really hardly gives attention to these stuff. But I can remove it. My other birds love ropes and I saw red rope pieces at their faeces then I removed them. However, Zeytin's priorities for gaming is different:)

Budgies are notorious for getting into mischief - they chew things they ought not to chew and go where they would be better not going.
It's just a matter of keeping the bird's environment as risk-free as possible. Long dangling strings are a danger as are things they can ingest but ought not to as well as things they can get tangled in.
The hen budgies in my aviary love nothing more than a bit of wood-working & carpentry! If ever I am daft enough to leave any exposed wood they make quick work of reshaping it when I'm not looking!
I give my birds long prunings from apple trees and from a cork-screw hazel tree that grow in the garden. Each long twiggy branch of hazel has curls and twists in it. I screw a metal cup-hook into the end of each branch and hang them up for the birds to clamber, swing and play on. They love stripping the bark and swingning but, if there's a new piece of timber construction in the aviary (a flight door or hatch-way) they always ignore the things given to them to chew and chew the things I would rather they left alone!
Your little bird looks a joy. Here's hoping you have lots of continued fun with him... and are successful is discouraging the nibbling.

Unfortunately eldiel shops and manufacturers aren't aware of what is good and what is not good for budgies, or perhaps they don't even care! Afterall, they make sand sheets for budgie cage floors. If you have ever had a budgie with bumblefoot you would realise what damage sand sheets and those gritty perch things can do. Shops still sell sandsheets etc.! They also make bells for budgies, bells that rust and don't last five minutes. Rust is poisionous to budgies, cos as you know they will chew everything and anything. Stainless steel bells can be bought, but are difficult to come by. If you have any bells, (we all do!!) just keep an eye on them when you clean them for any rust that will eventually appear. I hope you didn't mind me pointing these things out and about the tassels, they are/can be very dangerous to a budgie.
