Trying to work our a clear identification of my birds markings . i know he's a yellow face , but I'm taking the rest of his colours are normal blue . Do the colours intensify or stay the same as he grows? Thankyou for any help . Trish dark blue tail , yellow (soft yellow) on wings and head blue with tingles of green on chest

He could change colour slightly with his first moult but to me he looks like a sky blue or cobalt yellow face. There is no such thing as a normal blue, with the blues you can get cobalt, sky blue and mauve, there is also violet which looks quite blue depending on the light. Budgie colours can be very confusing

But I am not an expert, this is just my opinion after looking at a lot of budgie photos!

The yellow of the yellow-faces infuses into their base colour, how much depends on what yellow-faced factor they have. You will probably find that his blue becomes more green tinged as he matures. Once he is fully mature, his colours won't continue to develop.

Thankyou , makes sense now looking at yellow progressing. Can see the hints of green and violet . Letting him out he's found a few good spots to sit in my art room .
