Hello everyone!
I have a pair of shoe budgies that are always together - preening, talking, everything. The male is turning 3 this year, whereas the female is turning 2. The female is in breeding mood (I have bred before), but I haven’t seen them mating yet. I have set up a breeding cage with a nesting box and I am about to bring them into the cage from my aviary. Since they are not actually currently mating, will access to the nesting box encourage them to mate? Is there anything else I can do?
While I have bred and raised chicks in the past, I am still fairly new to the best process to do so and would like some advice from experts!

That is about all you can do. Make sure their diet is as good as it can be, added calcium for your hen, of course. If you have another mating pair, sometimes mating can beget mating, in other words stimulate the pair you are wanting to breed, to mate.
