He is ok thanks Jane, has his insulin like a good boy. He is constantly starving still and has an enlarged liver. I've tried milk thistle but he spits them out. Am still trying that with him, hiding it in food etc. I still worry about Cushing's, with the results so borderline and the hunger he has. But he is a lot better than he was back in march I am happy to say. Love him 💙 What about sprinkling some milk thistle powder on his food? I buy the powder for my budgie but as it’s for cats and dogs I sprinkle a little on my dogs’ food each day.

That's an idea - thanks. I bought tablets and they are quite big, I will try to crush them up and in future buy powder. I've been assured it will help his liver so will try anything!

This is the one I get. It’s available quite widely. I buy from Amazon but Animed do it too and I think you’d probably be able to get it from Pets At Home. www.denes.com/herbal-supplements/milk-thistle-powder.html

Does he have enough slow release carbohydrates in his diet to keep him full longer? I don't know tbh, he is still on Royal Canin diabetic food 150g twice a day. I cook green beans for him which he has a handful throughout the day, and once a week I cook him chicken meatballs with kale and egg white; he has one/two a day for 2-3 days. I would really like to cook food for him but i wanted him to be properly regulated which he just isnt quite there yet with the bg curves. Also, I am completely worn out and not eating properly myself. I am eating but not healthily - i make anything that is quick as I just don't seem to have any time anymore. Life has just taken it's toll on me at the moment and it's not helped that OH was away on a stag do in Spain for 6 days three weeks ago and is now marshalling at the Isle of Man TT races for 8 days. I actually asked OH last week if he would start pulling his weight with the animals; dogs and birds. After several words he said he would try..... so that may help me in terms of finding some time in the day. I got his Cushings results sent to me - they told me 600 means cushings and Alfie was 590 so it had to be assumed he didn't have it. The results actually said 599!!! I've clarified and they said unless its 600 they have to go with it not being cushings, otherwise where do you draw the line - 599. 598? I get their point. It's just all a never ending nightmare though. He has been tested for it 3 times now, and it costs a fortune - not that money is the issue, Alfie is. Any ideas/suggestions welcome....

Thanks Jane - I get his insulin from Animed so will order some from them. I will have a go at crushing the tablets i've got, they are pretty powdery, then buy the powder form from there on.
