I haven't been around much as my family keeps me pretty busy, but we still have our 5 budgies & got a shock yesterday & Sunday. Our old boys (13+ & 11) both mated with 2 of our females. While I'm pretty sure the oldest didn't result in anything (mating wasn't really the full shebang) the mating between the 11year old & our 3year old female definately was the whole wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am. This morning the girls were fighing over the hanging snuggle sack which they used to love playing together in. So off to the store I went. There now is a Vision Nesting Box inside my Vision cage. we shall see if we get eggs starting here today or tomorrow!

Just because your budgies mate doesn't necessarily mean you will have eggs. Are you wanting to breed? I would think that your boys could well be too old and three for a hen is at the old end of optimum breeding age as well. If you are not wanting to breed, take out the box and the snuggle hut. Budgies do not need somewhere to retreat to and anything like these are simply asking to be used as nesting sites.
Also having two hens in the one small cage with a box will cause fighting between them; if you do get eggs and then do hatch chicks, the non-breeding hen will likely as not attack the chicks and kill them. There are a lot of adjustments that need to be made before you go and set the birds up to breed.
