- Budgies bobbing their heads up and down, (making little squawk noises) while perched on my finger?
- Their eyes dialating? They seem excited not angry, but i'm not sure what to make of it.
- When offered kale or lettuce, One of my (2) budgies seems to dominate the offering, eat his fill, then he tears it up wildly and spits it to the bottom of the cage. Is he being playful?

The head bobbing and eyes dilation sounds like he’s very excited to be with you. The kale tearing could just be that they want to play with it and not really eat it. Some budgies love to tear things.

- Their eyes dialating? They seem excited not angry, but i'm not sure what to make of it. Their eyes dilating is the next step after head bobbing. You might find that the next thing will be beak bashing - usually with a fingernail. They are practising their interaction skills. You might find that soon they start "offering" your finger regurgitated seed. They do this with their budgie buddies as well. Feeding each other is part of the bonding process, doesn't necessarily mean anything sexual is going to happen.
- When offered kale or lettuce, One of my (2) budgies seems to dominate the offering, eat his fill, then he tears it up wildly and spits it to the bottom of the cage. Is he being playful? Budgies love to shred their food and throw it around. If your other bird is not getting any, hang it up in two different spots so that they can both eat at the same time.
