It was my OH's birthday the beginning of this month and I bought him a 2 hour Falconry experience in the most beautiful grounds. I paid for three of us (including mum) to have the experience and there were only two other people in our group that we didn't know. I did book it a while back so I am glad as the weather was so sunny and thankfully not too hot. And you may think I booked it for me as I like that sort of thing but I can assure you that he loves birds/falcons too! Didn't mention it before as I wondered if we would be allowed to take pictures. Luckily we were, so I made a bit of a meal of it! But made sure the sound and the flash was off so it didn't alarm the birds of course Oh and OP ...no tripod needed all done with a camera phone the marvels of technology huh? This little chap was called Elf
Burrowing OwlThis is Mr Woods - he is actually a hen! But despite being 2 years old, she has a bit more growing up to do as they dont mature for AGES (hence the downy fluffy head)
Brown Wood OwlThis is Eva
Harris HawkAnd this is me with Mr Woods or Woody as they are trying to call her now A great day was had by all

I could sort of guess you didn't have a tripod for the video. Still blooming marvellous the images these phones can turn out. It looks like you all a fun day out.

That would have been a wonderful couple of hours, Sam. I didn't see my ticket in the mail, though.

It is a great experience to see these birds close up, I would do it every week if I could.

Now there's a challenge that puts the Camino to Santiago de Compostela into perspective. I really do wish I could start (and finish) something like that!!

Ohhh wow, you lucky things, that's on my bucket list along with walking with wolves Are the birds heavy on your arm samwiseg ? . I had a friend who did something similar with birds of pray and she said the jolt she had when the bird flew back to her arm was tremendous and he was very heavy, i guess it depends on the bird, heavier than a bud im sure
