Hi, I'm a new member here and would like some help with the mutation of my new little bird friend. The colours in these pictures are true to what I see- the bright yellow and green on the back is true to life. Thank in advance for your help.

He's got the basic recessive pied head markings, but there is probably something else in there. I'm not experienced enough to say what. He doesn't have the chest markings that he should have as a rec. pied. (And I am running out of time to go looking ) Are his eyes are solid black? What colour feet? They look pink but are they solid pink or mottled?

Eyes are solid black right now but he is fresh from the nest (so to speak) so it could just be his age and his feet are solid pink.

Do all recessive pieds have chest markings Hezz? My first thought was recessive pied too.

It's the "something else" (I think) that changes the chest markings on the recessive pieds, as I remember, M, but I don't remember enough to be very sure.

Could possibly be a double factor dominant pied!

Could be, of course. I did think of DF dom pied in the beginning, but dismissed because of the green rump, thinking they were single coloured, but of course they are not!! The more I look, the more I think you're right, robbo78. (I'm feeling a bit silly now. )
