I did wonder that too ffiscool but thought that it was very near an adult so didn't have its gape and you never know he may have still surplus insects or collected them and whistled to the littl guy so he could be fed outside? Who knows, would love to think so as he was so dedicated to getting the little guy through the process! I was just blown away by it really

When we see newly hatched chicks on programmes like Springwatch, we don't realise how small and delicate they can be until we see them being handled like this.

I've just found out that a Goldcrest egg measures 1.4cm by 1.1cm!!!
Now that's tiny!!!

It is truly amazing some of the things nature reveals to us. The man in the video is a real saint. Loved watching it. I would like to think the little bird made it out on his own in the big wild world, he was given the best chance!
