Mint is purportedly safe but like most aromatics, it is recommended that it be offered in small amounts and not too frequently. A lot of birds avoid the more aromatic herbs. Some of mine do. And as is true for all veggies and herbs, if offered it must be pesticide-free.

One leaf will probably be ignored. Try a small sprig, washed well but give dripping wet. They may just drink the water off the leaves, or have a little nibble, or they might have a bath in the moisture.

Mint wouldn't go anywhere near mint, not even for a nibble!

Mint wouldn't go anywhere near mint, not even for a nibble! Which is probably why it's one of the plants that organic gardeners use to fend off critters who might nibble on their crops.

Mint wouldn't go anywhere near mint, not even for a nibble! Same here. I remember attempting to give it to my girls & they saw the sprig of lovely, leafy greens in my hand & came out on the landing platform but as I got nearer they must have got a whiff of it & both promptly turned their backs & went back in!

Mine haven't either, but it certainly won't poison the birds. My wusses don't even like basil!! Not even Loki. Luckily they get tons of seeding grass for greens, or I would be in strife.
