New to the forum! I searched threads without any luck! My parakeet, Goose is about 5 months old. He is my 5th parakeet over the last 40 years! And Goose is also my first parakeet with an overgrown beak! Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Cuttlebone in place. Wood perch. Mineral block. I feed him Kaytee Fiesta Parakeet food. He hasn't eaten veggies or fruit that I've offered him. Currently his beak isn't grossly overgrown so i'm hoping I can correct it before having to get it professionally trimmed. Any suggestions?

Can we see photos of Goose?
Usually an overgrown beak is due to liver issues.

Also once you start beak trimming it has to continue, it wont be a one off.

Really need a photo or two to be sure that his beak is really in need of treatment. As Marianne Marlow has said an overgrown beak is most usually due to a fatty liver, and Goose is very young to have this problem.
