How long could it take and how long should I give it before putting them back in the main cage?
I only put them in the breeding cage a couple of days a go.
How long do you give it if they don't breed before putting them back?
thanks.

Breeders wait from one week to one month. It depends on how many birds one has. A breeder with a stud of over a 100 won't wait more than a week.

Many pairs will produce their first egg 8 or 9 days after they have been given a nest, but some young hens will take up to a week before they even enter the nest box and possibly another two weeks before the first egg is laid.
