I bought some Johnston & Jeff with a view to diluting the Haith's & reducing costs. I have put some in separate seed pots & they have all eaten from it. Perry seems to favour it. Dalai seems not bothered either way & though Lennie has eaten it, he still appears to prefer Haith's.
There's some relief in knowing they like seed from two different suppliers, which means we are okay if either Haith's or J&J get run over by a bus!

😁😁 sweetpea you just made me laugh out loud. ( the bus)...... I just ordered ( reluctantly) from haiths, I only have Charlie to feed and don’t want to upset him by changing his seed. I freeze it all, just taking out what he needs for a month......Does anyone know if I should be doing this? I just let it air off before putting it in an airtight container after freezing it.

I freeze mine too. I remember, I think it was Hezz, saying to freeze it to kill anything off as well.

I freeze mine for a few days when I first get it, in case there are any larva or eggs in it. I've never found anything in the seed that I buy, but I did notice that the place I get it from has had those pantry moth "catchers" in their loose seed bins. I don't keep the seed in the freezer long-term, but I don't see why you couldn't.
