I decided as I didn't know Archie's history, as a precaution I would treat both birds with ivermectin today before they get together next week when quarantine its up (thank goodness). We did Eric first. Alex held him and I put on the drops. No problem. Archie next. Alex caught him no problem (he's been stepping up on our little fingers and we have been getting him used to being held) Well Archie is considerably smaller than Eric and he wriggled straight through his fingers and out of Alex's hand, he was then doing laps around the living room with no dust sheets down the back of the furniture (Eek) Anyway he landed on his favourite curtain rail and Alex got him down. We had to put him back in his cage and start all over again, but job done and nether bird seems bothered by the experience. They are both shouting for each other as they have been all day today. Roll on next week.

It was more funny because before we started I said to Alex "whatever you do, once you've got hold of him, don't let go!" Oh...

I have only treated because Archie came from a pet shop like I say I don't know of the history and the breeders conditions. It is purely as a precaution.

Before Lemon joined the flock, I treated all of them, because he had just got over a nasty case of scalyface while in quarantine.
