Thank you all so much for the help you've all given me. I am so glad I found you. I am sad to see Charlie go. But his happiness comes first. Charlie is a lucky boy. But I am very lucky too. I get to see how Charlies doing. I have a great deal to thank Marianne for. I feel much happier than I did this time yesterday. And as a nice note, the poster on the other forum that called me cruel came back to say sorry and gave me a "big up" for putting Charlies needs before mine. Now I'm going to be budgieless, I hope you don't mind if I stick around. Sue How else will you be able to check up on Charlie? And Marianne??? Can I ask, what is a "big up"? Some people just don't think how their comments may affect others, but I am happy you feel you have done the right thing.

Charlie is home with us now and has been transferred into our small cage (it's the same size as his original cage anyhow!) for the quarantine period. He has been making cute little chirping noises He is a bit nervous understandably so he has been partially covered and seems better like this.

I had just logged off to go to bed, but simply had to say hello to Charlie. He'll be fine in a few days.
What did the other half say about the...er...new extra bird? Your neighbours must know you as the mad budgie lady.

The other half carried him home for me - Charlie went on the bus I have no idea what the neighbours (everybody needs good neighbours..) think of me. We hardly talk, it's not like the old days!

Hello Charlie! Make the most of quiet quarantine as you won't know what's hit you when you meet the rest of the flock.

So happy Charlie is home safe & sound with Marianne. He's had quite an adventurous day, bless him. He's been on the underground and then the bus. I bet he's worn out now. He looks happy in his new temporary cage How long does he stay in quarentine Marianne? I have to say I felt a bit emotional when it came to handing him over. But I'm excited for him. What a different life he will be having now. Thank you Marianne for everything. And thank Paul too.

You're welcome Sue, anything for a little budgie Thanks for letting him live with us! I forgot to ask you, how old is he? Does he have any favourite foods?

Thanks Marianne. Charlie is about 3yrs old. My sister bought him for me when he was a baby after my other budgie Sophie passed away. I don't know if that's old or young in budgie years . Charlie loves those round millet things. Those ones that look like they have a sweet coating on them. And he loves his cuttle fish.

3 is quite young in budgie years. They can live up to 20 - although that is rare. I have two budgies that are 5 and a half.
All depends on their genetics, environment and nutrition.

After the tube and the bus and new people, poor little Charlie will be a bit shell-shocked, I would think but I am sure he will perk up when he hears all that budgie racket going on in the next room. How come no-one I know wants to give away a budgie........... PS Thanks Sue. Asked the boys, they didn't know, but figured it must be something like that.
