I hate to say it Shirls but they are definitely in the 'big fluffy lump' category (which is a good category for a chicken to be in - only wish it was the same for humans ) Gorgeous girls!

Four gorgeous girlies. It must be some sight in your garden Shirls when these girls start moulting Yes jellybean, emptied pillows!! But I must say the wild birds help me clear them up most days while they are nesting. But I do have to clear up a lot myself, or keep my fingers crossed for a very windy day!!

There's always got to be one in the group out of line or not looking at the camera. Is that Dusty, doing both?

There's always got to be one in the group out of line or not looking at the camera. Is that Dusty, doing both? No Hezz, Dusty was busy laying an egg. She is sat on top of the nest box on the left hand side, just out of the picture. I have to put a thick layer of newspaper on top of the box, weighed down with a stone in each corner so the wind doesn't blow the papers away. She goes up there when she's ready. From left to right in the picture: Aurelia, Mollie, Tuppence and Hetty.

No, they are mine indeed blue48! One has to have the camera (phone) handy at all times for shots like these! Yup Hezz Dusty is the grey one, to be 'proper' she is a chocolate blue!
